What is Counselling?

Counselling is mainly a listening and talking based method of addressing problems and change. It may be concerned not only with mental health but with spiritual, philosophical, social and other aspects of living.

Counselling is an opportunity to talk about your difficulties and explore them in a supportive environment. Its purpose is to attempt to enable you to find answers to those difficulties.

Professional counsellors have had formal training and are supervised in their practice.

When should you consider counselling?

If you are finding it difficult to be objective about your situation, or feel isolated or alone and need someone to talk to, then counselling might help.
